Mobility Networks North American (MNNA) is the latest worldwide branch to be set up by Mobility Networks. The Mobility Networks Group delivers a ‘one-stop-shop’ service for bus and coach builders, vehicle convertors, fleet operators and domestic drivers looking for the best wheelchair access solutions from around the world. Led by Mike Simmonds, a renowned global entrepreneur who was previously the Managing Director of Q’Straint’s international operations for almost 20 years, Mike will be leveraging his extensive global experience to deliver a pioneering level of product quality to the North America market.

MNNA officially launched and unveiled a range of pioneering access products to the US market at BusCon Expo (19-21 Sept, 2016, Indiana Convention Center, Indianapolis). The event was a significant success for Mobility Networks with the booth busy throughout the show as trade buyers discovered products at the forefront of innovation.

For the first time, US bus and coach builders will have access to Mobility Networks solutions that deliver utmost quality, reliability and performance. To support provision of this innovative equipment to the rest of the US market, an additional office is opening in New York. This office along with the Toronto facilities will be led by brothers Angelo, Angelo M and Domenic D’Urso.

The D’Urso family already has an outstanding and established reputation in North America. They have worked in the bus sector for over two decades and have first-hand experience of disability with a close relative using a wheelchair and regularly support disabled children’s charities – hence a complete understanding of disabled passenger needs. This will ensure MNNA will meet and exceed expectations and deliver appropriate access solutions for maximized safety and independence of disabled people. With an 85,000sq ft facility near the Toronto Pearson International Airport, MNNA will be able to efficiently import and supply the very best vehicle access solutions from around the world. A dealer network is being rolled out across NA through established and trusted contacts so assured service and after-sales support is delivered.

For the first time in the US, vehicle builders will have access to a range of world-class Mobility Networks products including the Access™ UQ cassette lift which offers world-leading weight savings and lifting capacities. All Access™ lifts from Mobility Networks encompass precision engineering that represents the forefront of innovation and safety. New products from the Flexi range will also be launched into the US market including the FlexisRamp, FlexiRail flooring system and FlexiWinch. Products from CarOil in Italy, another respected Mobility Networks manufacturer, will also be introduced namely the inboard vertical split platform lift, Traxx lift and cassette ramp. All branded Mobility Networks, these products offer a new choice for the American market – competitively priced and built to deliver unsurpassed performance.

Angelo D'Urso, MNNA Co-director comments: “Launching the Mobility Networks operation in North American is a true privilege for us. During the two decades I have worked in the bus and coach sector, I have never experienced wheelchair lifts with such outstanding engineering quality as encompassed in Mobility Networks’ products. Following our initial success at BusCon, I believe Mobility Networks’ products could potentially be the industry standard within the next 5 years. We received so much positive feedback from potential clients – our products already appear to be highly regarded as they are so innovative, there is nothing else like it on the market.”

Mike Simmonds, Mobility Networks CEO adds: “These are indeed exciting times for Mobility Networks as we introduce a new, wide-ranging choice in wheelchair access solutions to the North America market. These products will help elevate wheelchair passenger experience beyond previous convention. As we are a global network built through decades of experience, our trade clients can trust Mobility Networks to only supply the best solutions from a worldwide market. This will be combined with localised US expertise and support so all vehicle access challenges for fleet operators and disabled passengers can be resolved.”
